Study, study...distraction!

Hopefully you've notice I've decided to arrange a layout for my blog. Once upon a time, long ago I would have made the layouts myself but I have neither the time nor the creativity any longer to do such things. So I found this nifty little thing from another blog that I found on the blogger note. Cute.

I'm not exactly the pinkish-girl type, and actually I totally abhor the color, but I absolutely love cute things. Being raised by only boys kinda makes you that way. I've always been the tomboy type, except the fact that I never could get over anything that was absolutely adorable. In the past two years I've been living here in the confines of the Netherlands, I found that my tastes in things has drastically changed...well not drastically but just enough for me to realize that I never would have gone to the retail store and point at something saying " Oh em gee. That's really cute!".

So many things have been going on lately, it's mind-boggling really. Last week I had my jaw surgery and it's almost a week later and I'm still recovering. Maybe I'll make pictures when my face totally heals. Right now I have problems facing myself in the mirror because I look like a huge balloon.
Here's my baby niece; she's about 7 weeks old now, and still really feisty with a voice to match!

And there she is, little Sarah Hina S. She's so big now and absolutely huggable. Mash'Allah.

In other news, the Shia's are going on again with their procession holiday. I have nothing against Shia's as one of my close friends is one (although not of the similar sect), but I just think this holiday of theirs is really strange (for lack of using other words). Hurting myself to feel someone's pain is not really my ideal holiday event.

But then again, I'm just saying.

Spin Offs

For anyone who's seen the blog jewinthecity, this is the basic spin-off..well a second spin-off if you consider the fact that the author herself spun her blog off of Sex in the City. But rest assured, this blog is and will remain 100% halal (legal activity according to Islamic laws), and all the wonderful Islamic-ness that goes with it.

I'm having a heavy creativity block lately, so it's been difficult to find a spin of titles to run muslim with, but anyways! There's still no concrete reason of why I started blogging or what I hope to accomplish by doing so, but Insha'Allah (God willing) I can help someone, somewhere in the world become more aware of how Islam, and Muslims are. And not only that, but furthermore I would also Insha'Allah, like to see sometime, an active lobbying on my part towards greater causes in the world. (Thanks to Mr. Rajash Rawal, my politics teacher, on the lecture on Cyber Lobbying and Networking today.)

There's more I would love to expand upon, however it's now 3:13 am and Sleep calls me. (Does not help that I went to bed 6 am this morning..and woke up at 10:00 am.)

JazakAllah Khair (May Allah grant you goodness) and Shukran (thank you) for reading.

City Lights

Bismillah Ir-Rahman Ir-Raheem.
(In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most merciful.)

I greet you with the Islamic Greetings:
Asalaamu alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May peace and blessings of Allah be upon you.)

*Before I start explaining why I started this blog, I'd like to mention that you will notice I do not wear hijab (head-scarf). This is a personal choice and I do plan to wear hijab by next Ramadan 2010, Insha'Allah. I know people like to judge but it is my own choice; Allah knows best.

Now I wanted to say that it's 3 am and I don't know why I had to start this so late in the night. I had the urge to start this however, especially after a lot of learning and growing since my conversion about two years ago. (It also has to do with a lot of Peace TV that I've been watching lately. I have a growing need to spread the word of Islam, especially in Europe. I find that since I've moved here, that people are much harder to speak to than in the states. More stubborn I should say.

Anyways, Insha'Allah I will have further explainations as to what I plan to do and I hope that Allah will help me guide others in this path.Insha'Allah.

May Allah give give you blessed nights of rest. JazakAllah Khair!

Walaikum Asalaamu.
